Accessing the solar website:

Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park

The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.

'Palimpsest' Film Artwork Screening & Artist's Talk

DATE: 8 Mar, 2026
TIME: 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
all times are in Irish time unless noted otherwise

Join Wilderland artist Joanna Hopkins on International Women's Day for an artist's talk and screening of her new film artwork 'Palimpsest'.

'Palimpsest' is a new film artwork by Joanna Hopkins based on the female body, natural plant dyes, our interactions with place, and the change of use of landscape over time.

The film is part of her commissioned project for Wilderland, which included a series of natural plant dyes created across two public workshops. The resulting colours were made with wild lichen, the leaves of native Hawthorn, oak leaves from the Bangor Trail, and the toxic and invasive Rhododendron found across Nephin National Park. Special thanks to Wild Nephin National Park and the NPWS. Filmed at Lios na Gaoithe, the windy fort, the film was created on the morning of the Winter Solstice, 21st December 2025.

All welcome.

FREE event.

Booking is required for this event at The Museum of Country Life, Turlough Park
