Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park
The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.
“We don't need to travel to the stars to be near the stars.” John Moriarty
Derval will lead us through a bespoke Mayo Dark Sky version of an ancient practice called yoga nidra (conscious sleep). Participants are invited to lie down and be guided gently through this horizontal meditation/relaxation practice, along with open focus meditation and breathing practices, to facilitate deep rest through embodiment of the night sky.
Derval’s work is inspired by Irish Philosopher John Moriarty, who saw the night sky as a way to connect with a deeper, more ancient layer of reality, a source of spiritual renewal and wisdom. In this session she will guide us to the threshold between waking and sleeping. In this space creativity increases threefold, science calls it the creative sweet spot.
Our StarLazing session will finish with a simple creative integration and reflection.
The intention of this session is to create a heart-felt connection to the night skies that will support the work of Mayo Dark Sky Park and ALAN (Artificial Light at Night) Conference.
Derval’s work has been endorsed by health-care professionals internationally.
