Accessing the solar website:

Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park

The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.

'Home to Erris' Rambling House

DATE: 24 Aug, 2025
TIME: 01:00 PM - 04:00 PM
all times are in Irish time unless noted otherwise

We’re joining NPWS for their ‘Home To Erris’ rambling house afternoon of stories, songs and celebration.

Join us at the old herd’s cottage at Tarsaghaun, along the northern section of the Bangor Trail, as we celebrate our history, our culture and our people with a gathering of the Kiltane and Ballycroy communities.

We’re letting the Bangor trail lead us ‘Home to Erris’ for a rambling house experience at the cottage by the river, as we come together to tell stories, sing songs and celebrate the people who went before us - bring your musical instruments and join in!

You can also join in our guided bog walk to learn all about peatlands and the Atlantic blanket bog - the predominant habitat in Wild Nephin National Park. And we’ll be identifying and gathering native plants for artists Clare Breen and Kasia Kaminska's year-long collaborative plant collection project Flower Féilire, to produce a large-scale cyanotype artwork and calendar of Mayo's indigenous plant life.

All welcome.
