Accessing the solar website:

Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park

The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.

Biography

From growing up with a rural Mayo farming background, Fiona developed an appreciation for nature and the benefits it gives us. After originally completing studies in Commerce with a Postgraduate Diploma in ECommerce, an opportunity to work in an education focused organisation led her to completing a Certificate in Forest School Leadership and she held the role of Education Coordinator at Airfield Estate in Dublin.

Fiona has 10 years experience of delivering educational workshops to both educational institutions and to the general public in the areas of food education, agricultural science and ecology. She has previously worked as a facilitator for a Creative Schools project.

Fiona is passionate about helping people learn and connect to nature through hands on activities such as foraging, bug hunts and using simple tools. She also has an interest in traditional Irish agricultural and food production methods. Now based in her home county she provides educational services to various organisations.
