Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park
The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.
Resonance of Place forms part of an ongoing body of research from sound artist and field recordist Anne Marie Deacy. Embedded in deep research in Wild Nephin National Park, Anne Marie uses field recording and listening practices as the foundation to create work which explores our perceptions, activating our senses and encouraging new dialogues to open us up to other ways of experiencing and connecting with the world around us.
An an energy exchange between listener, nature & place, from spring dawns, to winter dusks, the obvious and hidden, Resonance of Place explores sonic snapshots of the seasonal spectrum, from one of the most unique environments in the world.
From tunings from afar, to recordings of moss, lightning, bird song and trees, this art work explores through resonance our collective sensory connection to nature, the past, land, seasons, change and the cosmos.
You can experience Resonance of Place through the sound sculpture installation in the rooftop glass viewing room at Ballycroy Visitor Centre during this year’s Mayo Dark Sky Festival, full details on the Resonance of Place event page.
And you can find the full festival programme on the Mayo Dark Sky Festival website.
