Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park
The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.
Landscape, Lore & the Otherworld forms part of an ongoing body of research from Westport singer Elizabeth Healy into the genre of traditional songs known as Revenant Songs, a largely unexplored aspect of our musical and cultural heritage. These songs, deeply rooted in Irish and international folklore, narrate tales of the dead returning, mostly in their full human form, to resolve unfinished earthly matters.
For Wilderland, Elizabeth is researching the cultural significance of these songs, their original role in death and mourning, and exploring their potential current value in addressing present-day themes of grief, loss, transition and resilience in the context of climate grief and biodiversity loss - as laments for the landscape.
