Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park
The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.
It's national biodiversity week and Wilderland is joining Glenveagh National Park for Le Chéile don Dúlra, their new annual festival celebrating Glenveagh's biodiversity through creativity, conversation and community.
The festival of events highlights the landscape, its history, people, nature and conservation, with a special emphasis on the arts. The park will act as a venue to bring together professionals working for nature, artists, facilitators, musicians and film makers along with Glenveagh NP's own staff.
Everyone visiting the park during the festival will experience a special atmosphere and meaningful encounter with what it means to be in a National Park, part of the Natura 2000 Network – the largest nature protection network in the world.
Wilderland will be joining the festival on 21st May Natura 2000 Day for Biodiversity & Networking Day - bringing people, organisations and businesses together to exchange knowledge and share insights for nature conservation.
Wilderland artist Elaine Harrington will be joining Glenveagh NP's NCAD Artists in Residence Melissa O’Brien, Karen Browett and Claire McLaughlin for the afternoon Arts Panel session: Art, Biodiversity & Conservation - how art can play a role in helping people connect with and protect nature.
We'll hear from each of the artists in residence about their activities at Glenveagh NP, and we'll be discussing a host of topics, including:
Pull up a chair around the marquee stage at 2.30pm and join the conversation.
